DAY 1

January 27, 2025
Tokyo

Utilize our airport transfer service, featuring comfortable vehicles such as the Alphard, to pick you up from HANEDA International Airport and transport you to your hotel in Tokyo. The date can be adjusted according to your arrival, even if it is well in advance of your SHIKI-SHIMA Journey. Enjoy a minimum one-night stay at the latest stylish luxurious hotel in Tokyo, JANU Tokyo before your SHIKI-SHIMA journey. However, this is just the minimum usage, and you can adjust to add more nights depending on the length of your total stay in Tokyo or other cities in Japan.

DAY 2 - DAY 4

3D2N SHIKI-SHIMA JOURNEY

An exploration of fantastic folk tales and the cozy charm of handiworks, nurtured by Tohoku's long winters

  • Set forth on a captivating 3-day, 2-night winter journey through enchanting Tohoku, where each moment unfolds like ancient folklore. Departing from Ueno Station, our train voyage begins in Tono, Iwate Prefecture, known for its rich tapestry of folktales. Guests will immerse in kagura performances and local delicacies before retiring to our train.

  • Continuing to Aomori, guests can choose from two excursions: Goshogawara/Hirosaki or Hirosaki/Nishimeya. Whether riding the Tsugaru Railway or crafting wanimakko woodwork, each experience deepens our connection to the region's heritage. As twilight falls, enjoy a delectable dinner aboard the train before resting.

  • On the final day, explore Matsushima's breathtaking vistas and feast on fresh sushi from Shiogama ports before bidding farewell at Ueno Station.

Begin the end of your journey by checking back into JANU Tokyo, where you will indulge in its comfortable and stylish room. After your adventure on the SHIKI-SHIMA train, return to the hotel to relax and unwind. This is again only the minimum usage, and you are flexible to add more nights or even move to another hotel or city; we can assist you with that. On your last day in Tokyo, we will arrange another airport transfer to HANEDA International Airport for your ease.

Souvenirs, excess baggage charges, and individual fees (telephones, cleaning, etc) are not included in the package.

Regarding Price List
What is included in the price

1/ Fares, limited express fares, green private room fares, and pre-determined in-vehicle service charges for all sections of SHIKI-SHIMA on the route determined by the JR EAST.

2/ Charges (including expressway/toll road charges and parking lot charges) for the operation of a dedicated bus (including forwarding sections) on the route determined by the JR EAST.

3/ Meals on the operating route determined by the JR EAST.

4/ Sightseeing fees (including entrance fees, etc.) on the route determined by the JR EAST.

5/ Service by cabin crew (train crew) during the tour.

6/ Use of “Prologue SHIKI-SHIMA” (Ueno Station), a dedicated lounge for SHIKI-SHIMA immediately before departure from and after arrival at Ueno Station.

7/ SHIKI-SHIMA original schedule (Japanese/English, *may be simplified), photo books after the tour, etc.

8/ A one-way hire fee for a 30km radius from your accommodation (within Tokyo's 23 wards) to Ueno Station on the day of boarding SHIKI-SHIMA from SHIKI-SHIMA. No refunds will be given even if you do not use it.

9/ Two one-way hire fees from and to Haneda International Airport to Hotel in Tokyo

10/ One night stay pre-journey and one night stay post-journey at JANU Tokyo

What is NOT included in the price

1/ Travel fee for tour guide and interpreter (*tour guide is not allowed to ride).

2/ Expenses of a personal nature such as cleaning, telephone charges, additional food and beverages, and accompanying taxes and service charges.

3/ Medical expenses for injuries and illnesses, etc.

4/ Some alcoholic beverages and specific beverages upon separate request.

5/ Expenses required for special measures taken for the customer when special consideration is required when participating in the tour.

6/ Fees for bringing alcoholic beverages to SHIKI-SHIMA off-train facilities (inns and restaurants).

Terms & Conditions
Important Points

1/ A reservation can only be made for one room per schedule.

2/ SHIKI-SHIMA is a unit product on the condition that you purchase it in the basic course that includes the train, meals at the inn, sightseeing at the arrival station, etc. (*sale of the train only is not possible).

3/ It is sold as a tour product from Ueno Station to Ueno Station as "Shikishima no Tabi", and it is not possible to change the departure and arrival points, or change the meal or sightseeing menu along the way. Please note that we are only accepting tours for adults, and we cannot accept children under the age of 12.

4/ The services provided by the Company on board the SHIKI-SHIMA are in Japanese and English. Please kindly note that we cannot provide services in other languages.

5/ Materials necessary for guiding SHIKI-SHIMA, such as itineraries and cruise guidebooks, will be prepared in Japanese or English.

6/ Please ensure that there is a gap of at least 3 days between the date of arrival in Japan and the date of departure from SHIKI-SHIMA, and the date of return from SHIKI-SHIMA and the date of departure from Japan. We will not compensate for any damages incurred by the customer due to making itineraries without leaving an interval of more than one day.

7/ Allergies are accepted, but dietary arrangements due to religious or personal tastes are not accepted. In addition, depending on the degree of allergy, we may change the meal to a bento box.

8/Pets are not allowed.

9/ Multilingual support at facilities outside the vehicle will be supported as much as possible.
