The Kurayami Matsuri, or Darkness Festival, is an extraordinary annual event in Fuchu City, Tokyo. Regarded as one of the oldest festivals in the Kanto region, it is truly unique in all of Japan. This festival takes place every April 30th to May 6th at Okunitama Shrine, and true to its name, it unfolds during the night. Throughout the week, festivities include floats featuring men, women, and children adorned in traditional costumes, engaging in captivating dances along the streets.
